The Three Tenors
11.04.2026 - 24.10.2026 | The Correale Museum Of Terranova
The enticing voices of the three tenors Francesco Fortes, Alessandro Fortunato and Stefano Sorrentino, accompanied by a string quartet and piano, offer the audience a spectacular journey through the masterpieces of the Italian opera and the Neapolitan songs.
Place
Defining it 'museum' is simplistic. Because the collections of furniture, paintings, pottery, clocks and crystal make Correale the home of Sorrento's art. Those who choose the seaside town as a holiday destination cannot miss a visit to the 24 rooms of the old aristocratic residency, exhibiting thousands of artworks and pieces of local, Italian and European culture.
A taste of it is already offered on the ground floor, where the Hall of the Founders, dedicated to Alfredo and Pompeo Correale, who left stipulations in their will to have the artworks of the family collected in a museum. In the Hall of Sorrento's Marquetry Artists, furniture, boxes and chests show evidence of superb craftsmanship between the late XIX and early XX century. The other rooms keep beautiful archaeological finds from the town centre of Sorrento.
The first floor offers the visitor the opportunity of a full immersion in painting and decorative arts from the XVI to the XVIII century, through pictures by artists like Battistello, Caracciolo and Pieter Paul Rubens, as well as oriental porcelains from the XVII and XVIII century. On the second floor, paintings dominate the scene again, thanks to the collections of still life and landscapes painted by foreign and Neapolitan artists. There is also a collection of clocks, glass and rare objects from the XVIII century.
Finally, the third floor is dedicated to the extremely rare porcelains that the Correale loved to collect, made by the most important factories of the time. The collection documents the European sovereigns' desire to finance the first manufacture of 'white gold' in the XVIII century.
And what about the park? It allows the visitor to have a walk through camellias, citrus trees and other plants, up to the panoramic terrace from which the Gulf of Naples can be admired. In conclusion, no more evocative location could have been chosen for Opera & Lirica.
