Simply divine!
On »Wödfrauntag«, 8 March, the Wödfraun will be playing two consecutive sets: Firstly, the diviners will take to the stage, seven of them. Divinerinnen are not only divine, i.e. divine, but also firmly rooted in the Viennese music tradition. They dust off treasures from the folk song archive and combine them with modern compositions. The divine women follow in the footsteps of the legendary Schrammel Quartet, which at the end of the 19th century was honoured not only by monarchs such as Crown Prince Rudolf, but also by composers such as Johann Strauss and Johannes Brahms. With their voices and instruments, they bring traditional Viennese music to life in all its versatility, be it a philharmonic New Year's concert, a wine tavern or a musical dance floor. No less divine is the trio that follows, which provides the music for the second part of the concert evening: The singing Tini Kainrath, Marie-Theres Stickler on the Viennese button accordion and Maria Stippich on the contraguitar.
