DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES – The Cult Musical Returns to Vienna
More mysterious, darker and more haunting than ever: “DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES” returns to Vienna in 2027 in a newly revised production at the Ronacher – the very place where the success story of this extraordinary musical began.
Professor Abronsius, an eccentric vampire researcher, travels to Transylvania with his shy assistant Alfred. Together, they set out to uncover the truth behind the legendary vampires. At a remote inn, Alfred falls in love with the innkeeper’s daughter Sarah – but the mysterious and charismatic Count von Krolock has already taken an interest in her.
When Sarah is invited to a grand ball at Krolock’s castle, a dangerous journey into the world of the vampires begins. Alfred and Professor Abronsius attempt to rescue her, but soon find themselves drawn deeper and deeper into the realm of the undead.
Featuring the powerful music of Jim Steinman, with book and lyrics by Michael Kunze, spectacular dance sequences, great rock ballads and a unique blend of horror, romance, drama and dark humour, “DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES” is one of the most successful German-language musicals of all time.
Around 11 million visitors in 15 countries and 13 languages have already been captivated by the story of Count von Krolock, Sarah, Alfred and Professor Abronsius.
In 2027, a new chapter begins as the vampires return to Vienna in a fresh new production. The grand gala premiere will take place on 24 September 2027 at the Ronacher.
The performance is presented in German with English surtitles and is recommended for audiences aged 12 and over.
