Open Air Bad Kleinkirchheim

Bad Kleinkirchheim is a municipality with 1723 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2018) in the district of Spittal an der Drau in Carinthia. The today known as a spa and climatic health resort as well as a ski resort in a valley of the Gurktaler Alps was dominated by the mid-20th century, still largely rural. Although, according to legend, the first spa guest appreciated Bad Kleinkirchheim as a recreational area as early as the 11th century and the first bathers visited the place in the 17th century, only a few decades ago a decisive structural change took place away from the agricultural and touristy Bad Kleinkirchheim on. Today, the municipality is one of the twenty most visited tourist resorts in Austria, both in the summer and in the winter season.
