Place

The Stadthalle Bad Neustadt is located in the municipality of Salz.

Bad Neustadt an der Saale (officially Bad Neustadt a.d.Saale) (local: Neuschd) is the district town of the Unterfränkische Landkreis Rhön-Grabfeld, 32 km north of Schweinfurt. The spa town is located on the edge of the natural park Bavarian Rhön at the confluence of Brend and Franconian Saale.

The subsoil of the Neustadt area is formed by the rocks of Upper Buntsandstein and Lower and Middle Muschelkalks. Under a roughly 700 meter thick Buntsandstein layer, the Zechstein layer, which is about 250 meters thick from the Middle Ages, is blended in a thickness of up to 125 meters above the crystalline base rock salt bearing. Their erosion caused the formation of the basin landscape at the eastern edge of the volcanic Rhön. It is also due to the springs of healing that spring from the soil.
