Angelic voice and viola da gamba sounds
»I am Salome, daughter of Herodias, princess of Judea!« This is how we all know her and how she ends up under the shields of the palace guards in Oscar Wilde and Richard Strauss. Presumably, however, the historical Salome reigned as queen in Asia Minor for years after the death of John the Baptist, where she probably died quite unspectacularly around 64 AD. This gave rise to the idea of interpreting the events known from the legend as Salome's retrospective nightmare, which at the same time seems to prophesise unspeakable disaster for her. Let yourself be surprised how the sonorous sound of the viola da gamba, the angelic voice of Lucine Musaelian and the oriental colouring of Armenia's national instrument, the duduk, merge into a fantastic fable.
