Die Band Editors wurde 2002 gegründet, nachdem sich die Mitglieder an der Universität in Birmingham kennengelernt hatten.

Seitdem veröffentlichte die Formation sieben Studioalben, die allesamt die Top 10 der britischen Charts erreichten.

Ihr Debütalbum „The Back Room“ (2005) wurde für den Mercury Prize nominiert. Der Nachfolger „An End Has A Start“ (2007) erreichte Platz 1 der UK-Charts und brachte der Band zudem eine Brit Award-Nominierung ein.

Auch das 2009 erschienene Album „In This Light And On This Evening“ stürmte an die Spitze der britischen Albumcharts.

Zuletzt veröffentlichten Editors im Jahr 2022 ihr aktuelles Album „EBM“.

Editors haben sich in den vergangenen über 20 Jahren nie davor gescheut, musikalisch neue Facetten zu erkunden.

Mit ihrem Gespür für unterschiedliche Klangfarben und stilistische Weiterentwicklung zählen sie heute zu den beliebtesten und renommiertesten Bands Großbritanniens – national wie international.
