Brought to theatrical life by a legendary creative team, Disney’s new Broadway musical Aladdin will sweep you into a world filled with beauty, comedy and breath-taking spectacle when it opens at the Prince Edward Theatre, London in June 2016.
Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon) with music by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast), Aladdin features lyrics by Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast), Tim Rice (The Lion King) and Chad Beguelin (Elf), who also wrote the book.
Featuring the timeless songs from the classic film including A Whole New World, Friend Like Me and Arabian Nights along with new music written for the production, Aladdin is an extraordinary theatrical event you will want to be amongst the first to experience.

Eröffnet wurde das Prince Edward Theatre im Jahr 1930 um Musicals, Revues und Filme zu zeigen.
Das Theater eröffnete wieder als Londoner Casino am 2. April 1936 doch im Anschluss an stand eine Umwandlung in ein Kabarett-Restaurant an, das vor allem bekannt für seine aufwändigen Bühnenshows war.
Während des Zweiten Weltkrieges wurde er als ein Club für die Soldaten unter dem Namen “Queensbury” geführt.
Im Jahre 1946 Musicals und Revuen wurden wieder kurz aufgeführt. Im Jahr 1954 wurde das Theater zu dem Ort der neuen `Cinerama` Film-Spektakel.
In 1978, als die musikalische Evita eine Auflage von fast acht Jahren erreichte, nahm das Theater wieder zu seinen ursprünglichen Namen an, zum Prince Edward Theatre.

Von Ende 1992 bis Anfang 1993 wurde das Theater umfassend und vollständig renoviert, Wiedereröffnung war am 18. Februar 1993 mit der Broadway-Produktion der überarbeiteten Gershwin Musical “Crazy For You”.
